One Killed in Fiery Truck Collision in Audubon

A driver is dead following a head-on collision between a tanker truck and a tractor trailer in the Audubon section of Lower Providence, according to NBC 10.

The crash occurred just before 6 a.m. Monday on South Park Avenue near Crawford Road, 6ABC reports.

Police told reporters that one truck carried makeup powder, the other hauled sewage waste. The collision sparked a fire, but crews had the blaze quickly under control by 6:45 a.m. None of the sewage leaked, and it has been reloaded onto another truck, according to NBC 10.

Hazmat crews were dispatched to assess the scene, but no evacuations had been ordered. The road between Eagleville and Falcon roads will remain closed as the site is cleaned and investigated.
