Attorney General Child Predator Unit Charges Bensalem Man in MontCo.
A special agent of the unit posed as a 14-year-old female as part of an online child predator investigation.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, a special agent of the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit conducted an investigation on Aug. 22.
The investigation involved Amitkumar Manvar, 28, of an apartment building on the 3200 block of Hulmeville Road in Bensalem.
The special agent used a method of investigation of assuming the identity of a child and visited various chat rooms online. On Aug. 22, the special agent, using the method of investigation, engaged in a conversation with Manvar, who was using the screen name “coolviewguy”

The special agent identified himself as a 14-year-old female from Pennsylvania, while Manvar, under his screen name, as a 27 male and from Bensalem. During the conversation, Manvar is alleged to have provided the agent access to his webcam, where the agent recorded the transmission and observed his face.
On Aug. 23, the special agent, still posing as the 14-year-old female, and Manvar again engaged in online conversation. It is reported that Manvar asked to meet the online female. When asked for reasons why, Manvar allegedly stated a desire to perform and receive oral sex. The agent had set up a meeting point in an undisclosed location in Montgomery County.

At approximately 11:55 p.m., on the same day, the special agent observed Manvar, who was in a silver car, making a waving motion to an undercover female agent.
Manvar was arrested at the scene. During an interview with law enforcement agents, Manvar allegedly admitted to the actions described above.
According to a court document, Manvar was charged with Unlawful Contact with Minor – Sexual Offenses and Criminal Use of Communication Facility.
Manvar had a preliminary hearing on Aug. 29 and had a bail set at $100,000.
According to a , Attorney General Linda Kelly cautioned parents to regularly discuss Internet safety with children.
“Predators will take advantage of any available opportunity to identify and communicate with potential victims,” Kelly said. “The start of a new school year results in new activities, new friends and new schedules for young teens, and may extend the amount of time they are left unsupervised, either before or after school.”
