Parents: It's Time to Think Summer Camp
Lower Providence Township opens sign-up for area youth summer programs.

With wind chills in the single digits this week, it is hard to think about summer. However, for area parents, summer camp sign-ups have already begun.Â
Lower Providence Township has opened its annual registration period for camps. This year, it will feature two new camps, expanding the age groups permitted to be involved.
You can find parent handbooks, online registration forms or mail-in forms to register your children for a variety of summer programs in the township's website.

The camps are hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department of the township. Lil' Perkiomy, now in its first year, will be available for 4- and 5-year-old campers. It is recommended, according to the guide brochure, for those that have previously attended preschool or daycare programs.
There are three unique 10-day camps to register for with Lil' Perkiomy. Sessions are $135 for the first child, for those that register prior to the April 1 deadline. For a second child, the cost is $125. Those that are not residents of Lower Providence Township would be required to pay $170.
The traditional Camp Perkiomy is open for those who've just completed kindergarten to those that are about to enter fifth grade. Costs vary for the entire summer session, as before- and after-care times are also available. See the brochure attached for more information.
The second new addition to the township's camp season is a Perkiomy Trailblazers session designed for those entering fifth through eighth grades.
Both Perkiomy Trailblazers and Camp Perkiomy run from June 17 to Aug. 2, with days off for the July 4 holiday on July 4 and 5.
For more information on the camps, visit the township's website or call 610-635-3543.
