Rain could not stop the Perky League baseball game on Tuesday night where the Pottstown Spartans triumphed over the Trooper Tribe 6-3 in Trooper’s home base of Lower Providence, according to The Times Herald.
Pottstown’s Jason Ferrie ran a three-run homerun in the top of the first inning, and started each inning with a lead. “Pitching with a lead really simplifies the game, it really settles you down, you’re able to get into the comfort zone and just do your thing,” Ferrie said.
But John Swarr got the Tribe on the scoreboard with RBI single in the third inning, and Conaway’s two-run homerun tied things up.

“Everyone was laughing and having a good time,” said manager Jamie Nash. “But when it got back to 3-3, everyone got serious.”
Brothers Christian and Matt Bruno helped the Spartans gain their lead in the fourth inning, when Matt reached on a single and, two batters later, younger brother Christian scored Matt from second base. Pottstown went on to score in the fifth and sixth innings.
