Police: Attempted Theft and Theft from Unlocked Autos
Two cases involving theft from reportedly unlocked vehicles in Audubon and Eagleville.

Audubon Theft from Unlocked Auto
On Aug. 23, at 6:54 a.m., Lower Providence Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Jode Road in Audubon for a report of a theft from a vehicle. Police met with the vehicle’s owners who indicated that sometime between 12:30 a.m., Aug. 22 and 6:30 that morning. Furthermore, the vehicle, a 2004 GMC Yukon, was reported to be unlocked in the driveway.
An unknown person or persons took from the vehicle a blue and white Coach purse and approximately $100. One of the vehicle’s owners noted that the contents of the purse were dumped on the floor of the car, leaving the credit cards, gift cards and electronics in the car.
Later, the purse was found on the 900 block of Jode Road.

Eagleville Attempted Theft from Unlocked Autos
On Aug. 22, Lower Providence Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Egypt Road in Eagleville at 11:26 p.m. for a report of an attempted theft from a vehicle.

The resident told police that he had left the house at 4:35 p.m., leaving two trash cans and a cardboard box with debris at the end of the driveway for trash pickup. At 10:43 p.m., the resident observed the trash cans and boxes were moved to the back porch.
The resident confirmed that neighbors didn’t move the refuse. The resident also noticed that the three vehicles parked in the far driveway, all of which belong to his daughters, looked as if someone had entered it, as debris was left throughout the vehicles.
No reported items were stolen from the vehicles. Police state that all vehicles involved were left unlocked.
A single plastic glove, not belonging to any of the vehicle owners or the resident, was left in one of the vehicles and collected as evidence.
