RECALL: Smoked Salmon for Possible Listeria Contamination
Smoked salmon sold at BJ's Wholesale Club's in Pennsylvania are being recalled.

Spence & Co Ltd, of Brockton MA, a smoked salmon company is recalling its Wellsley Farm brand 16 oz. Nova for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
According to the US Food and Drug Administration, "Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant woman."

BJ's Wholesale Club's in Pennsylvania, as well as Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio carried the Wellsley Farm brand 16 oz. Nova, with lot number 6704701.
No illnesses have been reported from the contamination.
