PENNSYLVANIA — A local state legislator will be hosting a virtual healthcare enrollment town hall event on Wednesday.

State Sen. Katie Muth, D-44, announced that the town hall event would take place on Dec. 8 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the virtual platform Zoom.

Muth's office is partnering with Pennie — the state's health insurance marketplace — to offer the event to members of the public.

"As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, the availability of quality and affordable health insurance has never been more important," Muth said in a statement. "Our virtual event will help residents better understand how to apply, shop and enroll in health coverage in Pennsylvania — and also how to find out if your family qualifies for financial assistance."

According to the senator's office, Pennie can help people without access to employer healthcare coverage, as well as those Pennsylvanians who are currently uninsured.
