Sunday's Perky League Game Called Due to Weather

Lower Providence's Trooper Tribe and the Skippack Wranglers played as long as they could.

Shoddy weather got the better of Lower Providence’s Trooper Tribe and the Skippack Wranglers at their Perky League game on Sunday, according to The Times Herald.

After lightning flashed, the umpires suspended the game when Skippack was up 8-1 at the top of the fourth inning.

Trooper and Skippack both had runs in the first inning, with no scores in the second.  Skippack went on to have a six-run third inning.

Skippack had another run in the fourth when lighting cracked and the umpires called for a requisite delay.  After approximately 15 minutes of the delay, the umpires called the game.

Drew Frankenfield had had a good day batting for the Tribe, going 2-2 and scoring the team’s only first-inning run.  Ricky Gorrell went 3-3 with two runs batted in for Skippack.
