Fire officials said that the call came in during a period of heavy downpour in Lower Providence Township during the overnight hours.

Crews also had to work on fluid control, given the size of the vehicle that crashed.

Photos posted to Facebook show the tractor trailer crashed into large support beams holding up the overpass.

A portion of the truck's cab was apparently ripped off and can be seen in photos from the scene lying on the ground next to the accident scene.
