Warriors' Cheer Squad: Harrisburg or Bust

Local junior midget cheerleaders will compete in the state's capitol this weekend.

The Methacton Warriors' Year-Round Junior Midget cheer squad is heading to Harrisburg. The team will cheer for its first competition this weekend. The girls head into the Pennsylvania Elite's "March Madness" competition for its first spring event on March 3.

"This is the 13th year for this event, which gets bigger and better each year," said the Pennsylvania Elite website. "Last year over 80 teams competed at this incredible event."

The site states that the compeition is rather beloved across the state.

"Talk with any coach that has attended this event in the past, and they will tell you it is one of the best competitions in central Pennsylvania," said the Elite website. "This is why most competitors return year after year."

All teams compete on a foam black spring floor at March Madness. The competition starts at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 3.

  • COMPETITION LOCATION: Zembo Shrine, 2801 N 3rd St #2, Harrisburg, PA 17110
  • COST: Tickets are $10 adults, $5 students, children 5 and under free

"We wish the girls the best of luck," said Methacton Warrior Treasurer Dana Leahan. "Go there and rock the mats. Have fun. Go Warriors."
