Woodland's Walk-a-Thon Raises Funds for Home and School

Methacton School District elementary school promotes healthy living with recent fundraiser.

On the heels of National Walk to School Day, complete with walking school busses, Woodland Elementary School, a part of the Methacton School District, promoted healthy living and raised funds for its Home and School Association with its second annual Walk-a-Thon Wednesday.

Students, teachers and chaperones participated in two unqiue walking times. The AM-Kindergarten class, third and fourth grade walked the course in the morning, while PM-Kindergarten, first and second grades repeated the walk in the afternoon.

Students wrote letters, five each, to their friends and family. The letters were mailed prior to the walk. Those that wished to donate mailed cash or checks to the Woodland Home and School Association.
