Feeney's 'Santa Cause Campaign' Helping Charity
The Feasterville garden center sends proceeds of donations it receives for Santa visits to the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.

FEASTERVILLE, PA —For 30 years, Feeney's has held fundraisers to benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. But for more than a decade, the garden center has helped the cause with the Claus.
"After one visit and presentation check, we were completely taken with this amazing organization," said owner Janet Feeney. "What they do for these children and their families is short of a miracle itself."
So after Feeney’s partnered with Department 56 three decades ago, they have contributed to the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House in various ways. Department 56 is the manufacturer of village houses and accessories (Christmas and every day). They are owned by Enesco. Feeney's is a Platinum dealer.

But then they came up with the idea for the “Santa Cause Campaign.”
A $5 optional donation was created for those visiting Santa Claus, with proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House. (Visitors can take Santa pictures for free.)

Since 2011, through the "kind participation of our neighboring communities," Feeney's has donated more than $125,000, Feeney said.
"These generous donations have sponsored a bedroom or two for families that need lodging and are seeking treatment at local hospitals," Feeney said. "At times we have also been able to help contribute to summer camp events throughout the years."
Santa Claus appears at the garden center at 1134 Bustleton Pike on Monday through Friday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. He is there from Dec. 4 to Dec. 22.
"Santa is always free, but we suggest a minimum $5 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charity," Feeney said. "We are always grateful to the Feeney’s community for all of their generous donations and look forward to another year where we can all make a difference."
