Teen Killed In Freak Accident With Deer Identified

Kevin T. Donohue, of Downington, was just 16 when he died in a tragic crash involving a deer on Downingtown Pike in West Bradford Township.

MALVERN, PA — The teen killed in a tragic Chester County crash earlier this week has been identified as Kevin T. "KT" Donohue, 16, of Downingtown.

Donohue was a junior at Malvern Preparatory School and set to graduate in 2027, the school said.

According to his obituary, Donohue is survived by his older brother, Ben, younger sister, Lucy, and parents Kevin and Lauren Donohue, as well as many other family members. He was an athlete, playing football and lacrosse, his online obituary says.

"Though KT’s time on this earth was short, his impact on family and friends will be felt forever," the obituary said.

Beyond his toughness and grit, he exhibited a humility and a quiet confidence not frequently found in 16-year-old boys. KT was unapologetically genuine, never acting like anyone he wasn’t. Most importantly, KT was exceedingly kind. Maybe it was his warm smile, maybe the encouragement he offered to anyone he met, but everyone who knew KT felt it. It was so refreshing to see and experience. Inside his home, KT was always the first child to help with any chore whether it was doing the dishes, taking the trash out, or feeding their dog, Louie. His siblings especially will forever cherish his quiet but deeply comforting presence in their late-night chats.

Donohue's viewing will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Elizabeth Church, 110 Saint Elizabeth Drive, Chester Springs, PA 19425. A mass will be held at noon at the church and will be livestreamed at noon online here.
