30 Bypass Closed Saturday for Emergency Repairs
Crews will replace a 30-foot long section of pipe, PennDOT said.

The following was provided to Patch by PennDOT:
Eastbound U.S. 30 (Exton Bypass) will be closed and detoured between Business Route 30 and Route 100 in East Whiteland and West Whiteland townships, Chester County, on Saturday, March 7, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for emergency drainage pipe replacement, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Friday.
During the operation, U.S. 30 East (Exton Bypass) through traffic will exit the expressway at Quarry Road and follow to Business Route 30 East. Take Business Route 30 East to Route 100 South and follow to the ramp to U.S. 30 East (Exton Bypass). Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.

Last April, crews replaced a section of deteriorated drainage pipe at the same location but the soil has settled and created a dip in the roadway. Crews will replace a 30-foot long section of pipe in the area where the soil settled, backfill the area and resurface the roadway to remove the dip.
