4-Year Road Widening Project In Tredyffrin Begins In February
The project will rebuild and widen four miles of the Turnpike from the Route 29 interchange to the Valley Forge Service Plaza in Tredyffrin.
TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — A contractor has been chosen for the second phase of a Pennsylvania Turnpike project that aims to widen Valley Forge Road in Tredyffrin Township.
H&K Group, Inc. is the contractor for this Phase 2. Crews will work for about four years to complete the work.
Construction is expected to begin as soon as late January/early February 2026.

The project will reconstruct and widen four miles of the Pennsylvania Turnpike from the Route 29 interchange to the Valley Forge Service Plaza in Tredyffrin Township. That area is between mileposts 320 to 324.
Under the project, the roadway will be widened from four lanes to six (with one lane being added in each direction), featuring three 12-foot-wide travel lanes in each direction, a 26-foot median, and 12-foot-wide shoulders.

Work also includes replacing mainline bridges over local roads, lengthening culverts, and improving stormwater drainage through the area.
As part of the multiphase project, the turnpike will advance two overhead bridges and four mainline bridge replacements.
