Blotter: Hungarian Jeep Wrangler

The following arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Fraud… On July 31, a resident of Church Street in Malvern reported to police that he had been a victim of online fraud. He had attemped to purchase a 2003 Jeep Wrangler on eBay and sent a check for $5,000 to the seller. The man never received the vehicle, and bank documents revealed the money had been transfered to an account in Budapest, Hungary.

Bad check… On Aug. 3, Anthony’s restaurant reported that they'd received a bad check for $19.03 on July 15. 

Bad check… A Malvern resident paid with bad checks at Robert Michael Salon on July 17 and 18. The checks, which bore the woman's real name and totaled $170, both bounced.
