Burned Dog's Body Found In Chester County Dumpster
The Chester County SPCA is currently investigating.

The Chester County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is investigating a case in which the burned body of a dog found in Dumpster in Coatesville.
According to the county SPCA, the badly charred canine was discovered Wednesday by Coatesville police, after resident reported a foul odor in the area. An SPCA investigator at the scene later determined that the deceased body was that of a young adult dog, not neutered, and was “possibly a large terrier mix breed.”
It was also determined that the canine’s body was not burned inside the Dumpster, which was located behind storefronts on Diamond Street. Based on the rate of decomposition, officials said the dog had been left in there for 24 to 48 hours.

“We’re committed to finding out what happened to this dog and we’re hopeful that the public can assist us in our efforts,” said Chester County SPCA Executive Director Adam Lamb in a statement on Thursday.
The county SPCA’s Animal Protective Services Unit is handling the investigation. A pathology report on the canine’s body is expect to reveal addition details about its death.
