Great Valley Farmers Market Won't Return in 2012
Too many markets and too much competition hurts farmers, say organizers.
The will not return for a 2012 season. Market organizer Yvonne Post sent out a newsletter Thursday informing subscribers that the "supply has outpaced demand. Many of the vendors also sold at nearby , Phoenixville Farmers Market and numerous other markets in the area.
Here's the newsletter message, which contains information on where to find the vendors now that Great Valley has closed up shop:

This is the final enews of FMGVA. We have enjoyed offering the highest quality local foods and a wonderful community of vendors in the Great Valley Corporate Center since Fall 2009.
We will not open the Farmers Market at Great Valley in 2012. We feel supply has out paced demand and too much competition hurts the farmers market system as a whole so please keep supporting local food.
