The Great Valley School District Wall of Fame Program is designed to honor outstanding alumni. The program ensures that the lives and achievements of Great Valley’s most accomplished graduates will forever be known among fellow graduates, current and future high school students, and the Great Valley community. Nominations for the current year are being accepted via a nomination form on the District’s web site. Nominees for the 2012-13 induction will be accepted through 3 p.m. on September 21.

Earlier this year, five outstanding Great Valley High School graduates were named as the inaugural inductees to the Wall of Fame. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Great Valley High School, those inductees were honored at Great Valley High School's Commencement Ceremony. This year and in years following, however, inductees will be honored at Great Valley High School's Homecoming celebration. (Date this year is October 27, 2012.)

The Wall of Fame selection committee is comprised of nine members: the district’s communications director, high school assistant principal, two high school teachers, two current students, and three Great Valley High School alumni. Nominations for the Wall of Fame can be made by anyone, but those nominated must be graduates of Great Valley High School who have been graduated for at least 10 years. According to the criteria, those inducted into the Wall of Fame program will be alumni who: model high standards of excellence in their personal and/or professional life; make outstanding contributions to volunteer service or their local community; and have demonstrated success at the local, regional, or international levels in any appropriate area of endeavor, including academia and education, arts, business, media, public service, medicine, military, sports, etc.

“We hope to receive nominations for alumni in all areas,” said Great Valley High School Assistant Principal Marshall Hoffritz. “This is a program to honor alumni who have continued to make a difference in their communities.”
