Josh Hibberd Memorial Picnic Set for Oct. 20
A B.Y.O. Brown Bag lunch will be held at Malvern Memorial Grounds around 2 p.m.

Friends of Josiah Hibberd, a Malvern schoolteacher and principal who passed away earlier this month, are organizing an event in his honor.
On Saturday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. the public is invited to gather for a "celebration of life, picnic in the park memorial," according to Helen Behler, a friend of Hibberd helping to plan it. The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 21.
Anyone who wishes to come can bring their own brown paper bag meal to the Malvern Memorial Grounds near Paoli Battlefield. The theme reflects the fact that Malvern Elementary School had no cafeteria, so all students brought lunches from home.

Hibberd, 86, was buried Friday. A veteran with many years of service, he received a military burial. Comments from this Malvern Patch article, written by his students and friends, were read during the service, Behler said.
