Malvern Seeking to Preserve Historic Properties
A proposed ordinance would create a Historical Overlay District.

A proposed Malvern Borough ordinance would create a Historical Overlay District, which would protect some 250 structures, The Philadelphia Inquirer said.
The ordinance would not stop historic structures from being demolished, the Inquirer said, but would allow the borough to preserve their history.
It would “preserve and protect the significant historic resources and associated properties within the Borough of Malvern that have a distinctive character recalling the historical, architectural, residential, commercial, aesthetic, and cultural heritage of the Borough, Chester County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” the ordinance reads.
