Oscar Nominees Star in Latest People's Light Production

Two Academy Award-nominated actors have joined the cast at People’s Light and Theatre Company.

Mary McDonnell and David Strathairn star in “The Cherry Orchard,” which opens Feb. 11 and runs through March 8.

The play is an adaptation of Anton Checkov’s, and is the story of “a bankrupt matriarch and her brother are offered a lucrative scheme to save their family estate,” People’s Light said.

McDonnell was nominated for Oscars for her roles in “Dances With Wolves” and “Passion Fish.” Straithairn was nominated for his role in “Good Night, and Good Luck.”
