Paoli Company Distributing PPE, Sanitizing Device For NFL

The handy Orbel delivers just enough hand sanitizer, and it's one of 20 PPE items in a Paoli company's product line.

PAOLI, PA — A handy hand sanitizing device created by a Paoli company made the NFL this season.

The small "Orbel" PPE device applies hand sanitizer with roller balls meant to keep PPE users from applying too much hand sanitizer, while it targets areas of the hand most likely to spread germs. The sanitizing formula smells nice and also moisturizes.

The Orbel is made by Fusion PPE of Paoli. It delivers a 72-percent ethyl alcohol dispersion to specific areas of the hand, from a small device. Already in use by medical professionals, the device will also be used by players, referees and others in the National Football League this year.

Fusion Personal Protection Equipment owner Mark Rubino explained "Purell (brand hand sanitizer) is only 70 percent, ours is 72. The Orbel is pressure activated, so the same amount always comes out."

Rubino added the Orbel device is "eco-friendly and fully recyclable."

He said the company is glad to supply the NFL, but he's still working on a contract with the Eagles.

The Orbel PPE device is one of 20 different Personal Protective Equipment products Fusion Healthcare distributes. The company headquarters is on S. Valley Road in Paoli.

Rubino said Fusion provides PPE to the Pennsylvania Area Independent School Business Officers Association (PAISBOA) consortium. "We also supply a lot of hospitals, nursing homes, salons, law enforcement, even Vanguard in Malvern," Rubino said.

Supply chain issues early in the pandemic meant many healthcare workers lacked proper PPE. Rubino said he hopes Fusion PPE will have a part in keeping schools safely open.

"We want those kids back in school," said Rubino.

Orbel PPE units are available in bulk on the company's website.

The ORBEL™ hand sanitizer is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and NIOSH National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
