REMINDER: Last Day of School Pushed Back
Too many snow days during the winter forced the Great Valley School District to postpone the start of summer vacation a few days.
With Memorial Day 2105 now in the books, all young eyes look toward the coming start of summer vacation.
Unfortunately, students in the Great Valley School District will have to wait a little longer than originally scheduled. The snowy winter cost the district some snow days, and now the students, faculty and staff will pay for them in June.
Officials in the school district have posted a notice on its website that the last day of school will now be Friday, June 19, pushed back from the original last day on Tuesday, June 16. Graduation day will remain on June 12.

According to a school district spokesperson, the three extra days reached the limit available to the district. If any more snow days were used, the balance would have been taken from the spring break.
