Route 202 at High Street Is Not Finished
Dave Palmer, the engineer overseeing the project, says he gets emails saying he did a crummy job—but it's not yet finished.

Drivers are unhappy with the results of the roadwork on Route 202 near High Street in West Chester, but there's still work to be done. So says David Palmer, the man who checks the inbox of us202-300.com, a website PennDOT set up for information and answers about the project.
"We're going to put the final paving in in the spring, when the weather warms up again," Palmer said. "And over the winter, they're going to be putting the new sign structures in."
Palmer is a project manager at Malvern-based Urban Engineers, and he is overseeing the ongoing along Route 202 in Chester County.

Business owners along the highway and other stakeholders attended a public meeting at Monday, where Palmer gave an update on the Route 300 section of the highway.
An audience member asked when the High Street bridge would be reopened, and Palmer replied that it had already reopened a week ago, along with the ramp to northbound Route 202.

"That bridge has been hit number of times by over-height trucks," Palmer said. "They are planning to go out there and provide a little bit of additional clearance, by milling out some of the existing pavement. Every inch counts."
