Saint-Gobain And Great Valley School District Launch STEM Partnership

Saint-Gobain North America launchess technical experts to help build a STEM curriculum with Great Valley School District teachers.

MALVERN — Saint-Gobain North America partnered with Great Valley School District to develop the district's Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics curriculum.

The Malvern-based company pledged $15,000 over three years to the Great Valley Education Foundation, a nonprofit agency supporting programs and projects in the district.

Under the new partnership, the company’s engineering and technical professionals will help students build valuable technical skills.

Dr. Dan Goffredo, superintendent, said the district is truly grateful for Saint-Gobain’s generous donation.

“Saint-Gobain’s willingness to support our programs and students, especially in the area of STEM education, is admirable,” Goffredo said. “We look forward to expanding our relationship with such a wonderful organization.”

Saint-Gobain, a building materials manufacturing company, opened in Malvern in 2015. The company employs more than 1,000 professionals.

“An investment in STEM education is an investment in future generations of leaders and innovators in these important fields,” said Joe Bondi, president of the Saint-Gobain North America Foundation.

“Through our continued commitments in STEM education, we can create social and economic value for our colleagues, our customers and our communities.”

Through the Saint-Gobain North America Foundation, the company is committed to dedicating resources and funding to help support STEM education in local school districts in the communities where the company does business.

Stephen Skoufalos, president of district’s foundation, said Saint-Gobain’s vision of being an actively engaged corporate citizen in Great Valley through foundation sets an admirable example for the business community.
