School Board Appoints Superintendent Search Firm

The Great Valley Board of School Directors has appointed a search firm to help the district find a new superintendent.

Dr. Alan Lonoconus, the current superintendent, will retire at the end of this school year.

At its meeting Tuesday, Jan. 20, the board approved the appointment of the Chester County Intermediate Unit to search for a new superintendent.

The CCIU will “provide advice and logistical support to the Great Valley School District and School Board,” the district said.

The CCIU Executive Search Team was formed in 2008, the district said, and has conducted searches for such districts as Avon Grove, Chester Upland, Downingtown Area, Garnet Valley, Haddonfield, Midd-West, Owen J. Roberts, Oxford Area, Peters Township, Phoenixville Area, Radnor Township, Rose Tree Media and Unionville Chadds-Ford.
