Welcome to East Whiteland-Willistown Patch

Your front-row seat to watch the infrastructure improvements in East Whiteland, the revitalization of Malvern, the preservation efforts of Willistown... and everything in between.

Hello, friends, and welcome to the East Whiteland-Willistown Patch, also covering Malvern. My name is Pete, and I'm truly excited about what this website can bring to the community.

But before I get into that, I must offer a confession -- I have much to learn about this area. Despite spending years in the periphery of my new beat, I never before lived or worked here.

Though I've never called East Whiteland home, I once lived in West Whiteland. General Wayne Elementary School is not my alma mater (that would be Mary D. Lang Elementary in Kennett Square), but I did get married at General Wayne's historic residence in Paoli. I have enjoyed walks at Okehocking Preserve, without realizing I'd crossed into Willistown.

And, like so many of us, I nervously parallel-parked my way into teenage freedom more than a decade ago at the Driver License Center in Frazer.

So, I'm not yet fluent in the languages of East Whiteland, Malvern and Willistown, only conversational. But I'm learning more each day, and loving it.

As I write this, the holiday season is in full effect, and the accompanying sensations have been visited upon me tenfold this year. We all know the feeling of  busy nervousness as we prepare our homes for guests and pound the pavement looking for gifts. I'm preparing this site for hundreds, hopefully thousands, of guests, and I want to have something for everyone.

We also know that feeling of joy and excitement, of new possibilities heading into a new year. I feel that now like never before. There are so many fascinating people to meet and stories to tell.

I can be reached by e-mail at pete.kennedy@patch.com and by phone at 610-462-8973. If you have an idea for a story or just want to say hello, feel free to drop me a line. My name is Pete Kennedy, and I look forward to learning yours.
