2 Nabbed In Marple Daytime Carjacking, Robbery: Police
Two men were charged with the incident that took place near the Citizens Bank in Marple Monday afternoon, authorities said.
MARPLE, PA - Two men were charged with a daytime carjacking and robbery that took place in Marple Township Monday afternoon, authorities said.
Sonny Francis Michelotto and Francis Weiner were charged with conspiracy to kidnap, unlawful restraint, robbery, theft, possessing instruments of a crime and simple assault, Marple police said in a statement.
The charges stem from a Monday report of a robbery/carjacking of a pedestrian at the S. Sproul Road Citizens Bank at around 4 p.m., Marple police said.

At the scene, a victim told police that he drove to the area of Milford Drive and Sundor Circle to pick up a friend when he was boxed in by another vehicle and approached by two men, later identified as Michelotto and Weiner, police said.
The duo demanded the victim’s vehicle keys and, when the victim refused, Weiner displayed a black firearm, entered the passenger’s seat of the victim’s vehicle and demanded he drive him to the nearest bank to withdraw money, police said.

The victim drove to the Citizens Bank and notified a teller, who reported the incident to police. Officers later found Michelotto and Weiner in the area, police said.
A black firearm and a spare key to the victim’s vehicle were recovered from Weiner’s vehicle.
Michelotto and Weiner were transported to Marple Township Police Department Headquarters where they were fingerprinted, photographed and arraigned. They were later remanded to Delaware County prison in lieu of posting $250,000 cash bail.
