27th Annual Streams Cleanup Set For March 29 In Newtown

The primary site for the cleanup will be, Drexel Lodge Park, but many other locations throughout the watershed will be participating.

Newtown Township is proud to announce its participation in the annual streams cleanup events organized by two local watershed groups. The Chester Ridley Crum Watershed Association (CRC) will be hosting its 27th Annual Streams Cleanup on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 9:00am until 11:30am. The primary site for the event in Newtown Township will be at Drexel Lodge Park, but there are also many other locations throughout the watershed that will be participating.

According to the CRC, their annual streams cleanup event aims to remove litter and debris from streams and waterways in order to protect and preserve the health of our local watersheds. The event is open to all members of the community and provides a great opportunity for individuals and families to get involved in a meaningful cause.

In addition to the CRC's event, the Darby Creek Valley Association (DCVA) will also be hosting their annual Darby Creek cleanup on multiple Saturdays throughout April between 9:00am and 12:00 noon. In Newtown Township, DCVA will be holding events on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Greer Park and Brookside Park.

The DCVA's mission is to protect and enhance the natural resources of the Darby Creek Valley through conservation, education, and advocacy. Their annual cleanup events provide an opportunity for volunteers to make a positive impact on their local environment.
