Radnor Citizen's Police Academy Offers Inside Look At Local Policing

Topics in past iterations of the academy included K9 units, traffic stops, SWAT teams, and the prosecution processes from the DA's Office.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Radnor Township residents and business owners can get an inside look at local policing by joining the Radnor Township Citizen's Police Academy program.

The 9-week program teaches cadets about daily police operations and allows them to participate in hands-on training similar to the police academy.

Topics in past iterations of the academy included K9 units, traffic stops, SWAT teams, and the prosecution processes from members of the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.

And, for the investigations class, cadets have been thrown into a full crime scene, complete with fake blood, actors, and more, to glean how detectives handle complex cases in previous years.

Cadets will have a chance to meet the township's officers as well.

The first class is scheduled for Feb. 3, 2026. Hours may vary slightly depending on the topic of each class.

Residents interested in participating in the academy should complete the application online here.

Completed applications can be submitted via email to citizenspoliceacademy@radnor.org or dropped off in person at the Radnor Township Police Department, 301 Iven Ave. in Wayne.

Applications are due by Jan. 22, 2026.
