Delco League Of Women Voters Hosting 'How To Run' Information Sessions
The Delaware County League of Women Voters is hosting three events that will inform attendees of how to run for office.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Delaware County residents who are interested in running for local office are invited to attend upcoming informational sessions that will focus on how to get into politics.
The Delaware County League of Women Voters is hosting three information sessions, two virtually and one in person, that aim to help people get campaigns up and running.
These presentations will give participants an overview of what they need to know about becoming an elected official.

The first "Toss Your Hat Into The Ring" event will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday via Zoom. Register to attend the session online here.
This event will discuss local offices, filing petitions, campaign finances and more, all presented by election experts, voting rights advocate, and President of the League of Women Voters of Lower Merion/Narberth Jamie Mogil, Esq.

Then, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 15, another virtual session will focus on how to run for school board seats. The webinar is being conducted through Great Pennsylvania Schools/ PA School Board Association.
The Zoom event will focus on the key responsibilities and expectations of a school board director and the time commitment, legal considerations and the collaborative nature of board service. Participants will learn from experienced board directors about the real-life challenges and opportunities they may encounter.

The final session will take place from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at The Inn at Swarthmore, 10 S. Chester Road in Swarthmore.
This event, "Meet the Winners," will bring in present or former elected officials to share insights on their experience with running for office and serving as a local elected official. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
While the first two sessions are free to attend, the final session has a $35 fee and will feature light refreshments.
