Newtown Square Man Assaulted School Employee: State Police
The 20-year-old Newtown Square man was charged with felony aggravated assault and ethnic intimidation in connection with the incident.
NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — A Newtown Square man is facing serious charges after authorities said he attacked an employee at a Delaware County school.
Stephen Rex Matarazzo, 20, of Newtown Square, is charged with felony aggravated assault, felony ethnic intimidation, trespassing, harassment, and disorderly conduct
The charges stem from a Thursday incident.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Matarazzo went to Penncrest High School at about 12:20 p.m. Thursday to see his girlfriend, a current Penncrest student.
Police said Matarazzo did not want to wait to see the girl, and went into the school.

He found the girl in the school's gym, where he was told to leave by a staff member.
That's when police said he pushed the staffer and caused a disturbance before being escorted out of the building by staff.
State Police then took Matarazzo into custody without incident.
Matarazzo is a former Penncrest student, police said.
He was released after posting 10 percent of $15,000 bail and is scheduled for a June 18 preliminary hearing, court records show.
