Wheel, Hubcap Stolen in Separate Thefts

A hubcap and a wheel were stolen in two separate incidents in Broomall recently, according to Marple Township Police.

On Oct. 24, a resident of the 2600 block of Harding Avenue in Broomall told police that sometime overnight, someone removed a hubcap from his 1993 Buick La Sabre, which was parked on the street in front of this residence, according to police.

The unknown person removed five lug nuts to steal the plastic rim and then reinstalled the lug nuts, according to police.

Also on Oct. 24 a resident of the 100 block of Lindbergh Avenue in Broomall told police that sometime between Oct. 9 and 13, a single wheel was removed from his Nissan Rogue and it was replaced with his spare donut from the trunk, according to police.

The man was on a work trip when the theft occurred and he discovered it when he returned, according to police, however his wife was driving the vehicle while he was gone and didn’t know anything was different other than the tire pressure warning light was on.

The man told police that the vehicle is usually left unlocked while its parked at home. But it was unknown when or even where the actual theft took place as his wife had been using the vehicle and had been parked in several different parking lots, according to police.

The man's jack was also used and was left lying in the trunk, according to police.
