Delco Arts Week Promises Music, Films, Workshops, Activities, More

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Delco Arts Week is all set to run from Saturday, Sept. 30 through Sunday, Oct. 8 all throughout the county.

The nine-day event will feature more than 40 events celebrating the performing, visual and creative.

Attendees will be able to take in concerts, film, dance, exhibitions, festivals, workshops, activities for kids, and more, with many of these goings-on free to the public.

"It's important to support and celebrate the arts, not only in Delaware County but everywhere, because—more than simply being an expression of the artists—they help us understand our worlds and create avenues for relating and connecting to each other," said artist and educator Veronica Batter, founder and director of the Rockdale Art Center in Aston, as well as president of Aston Mills Arts. "Through the arts, we open our hearts and minds to learning about and experiencing other cultures, different viewpoints, and new perspectives. Being open to the unfamiliar is critical in building acceptance of diversity of thought and lifestyle, which is key in creating and sustaining strong communities."
