Delco's Wanda Sykes To Co-Host 2022 Oscars Ceremony

The comedian and actor who lives in Media will be joined by fellow Philly-area natives Will Smith, Questlove, and Adam McKay at the event.

MEDIA, PA — The Philly-area's representation at the 2022 Academy Awards is growing, as a famous Delaware County resident known for her quick wit will co-host the ceremony.

The Academy announced three hosts for the ceremony, and one is Media's own Wanda Sykes.

Sykes will co-host with actor Regina Hall and comedian Amy Schumer when the event airs at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 27 on ABC.

The 57-year-old with numerous movies, TV shows, and comedy specials under her belts splits time living in Media and Cherry Grove, New York.

Sykes is adding to the Philly-area representation at the 2022 Oscars.

She will be joined by Philly's own Will Smith, who is nominated for Best Actor and Best Picture for the biopic "King Richard" about tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams' father Richard, Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson of The Roots, who is nominated for Best Documentary Feature as he directed "Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)," and Malvern's Adam McKay, who earned nods for Best Picture and Best original Screenplay for the dark comedic satire "Don't Look Up."

The 94th Academy Awards are set to air at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 27 on ABC. See other viewing options online here.
