HBO's 'Task' Starring Mark Ruffalo To Film In Delco Again

PennDOT said the series, which is a sort of spin-off from the hit show "Mare of Easttown," will be filming overnight in Upper Chichester.

UPPER CHICHESTER, PA — HBO's upcoming series "Task" will again be filming in Delaware County, according to PennDOT.

PennDOT said the series, which is a follow-up and quasi sequel to the hit series "Mare of Easttown," will be filming overnight April 16 to April 17 in Upper Chichester Township.

Due to the filming, Chichester Avenue will be closed and detoured between Boothwyn Road and Mill Road from 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 to 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 17.

"Task" appears to be a spiritual successor to the hit series "Mare of Easttown," which filmed in and around Delaware County and garnered several awards.

Ruffalo said in an interview with Deadline that he will be playing a "damaged" FBI agent in "Task," and said his character and Winslet's character from "Mare" could run into one another in the new series.

Ingelsby in 2021 said he was open to a sequel to the series, but little information about a follow-up came out until recently.

He said to follow up on the first season, he would want to ensure a new "story honors the first chapter and does things an audience will appreciate" to move forward with a new chapter of "Mare of Easttown."

Ruffalo is previously starred in another Delaware-County-set production in 2014's "Foxcatcher." Ruffalo played wrestler Dave Schultz, who was killed by John Eleuthère du Pont at du Pont's farm in Newtown Square in 1996.
