• Past Art Comrades Meet Again After 25 Years, Co-Teach Media Class (delco.today) — Two longtime art friends are now co-teaching a monthly art class for residents at Rose Tree Place, the senior living community in Media. Their reunion comes 25 years after an earlier class inspired Helen Smith to fully embrace her identity as an artist, and they’re now helping local seniors discover their own creativity.

• Man fatally injured in Upper Darby fire was a longtime firefighter (delcotimes.com) — A longtime Lansdowne firefighter was fatally injured in a Saturday apartment fire in Upper Darby, and his wife, an EMT who served in Media, is hospitalized with severe injuries. The blaze damaged 42 apartments, displaced residents to Drexel Hill Middle School, and prompted a fundraising effort to support the Rowley family and others affected.

• Bonnie Kaplan: Spreading Love Through Free Mom Hugs (epgn.com) — A Media resident who co-leads Free Mom Hugs in Pennsylvania shares how Media’s first Pride event and later a trans march in town inspired her growing advocacy for LGBTQ+ neighbors. She describes local Pride rides, “portable hugs,” and Happy Mail efforts across Delaware County, and emphasizes the ongoing need for volunteers, especially in the Media area, to support affirming, nonjudgmental community connections.
