Sanitation Worker Struck By Vehicle In Delaware County

Pennsylvania State Police said a sanitation worker was struck by a vehicle when he crossed a road without looking for other vehicles.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A sanitation worker was hurt after being struck by a vehicle in Delaware County earlier this month.

The crash happened at about 2:09 p.m. Sept. 8 on Valley Road in Middletown Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Alec Coe, 33, of Chester, was riding on the back of a garbage truck at that time and location.

Police said he got off the truck to get a trash can that was on the other side of the street.

In their crash report, police said Coe crossed the street without looking for other vehicles, and was struck head on by a Kia Sorrento, driven by Ibrahim Bangura, 45, of West Chester.

The Rocky Run Fire Company took Coe to a medical facility for treatment.

His condition is unknown.
