• Penn Middle donates 175 tote bags to local cancer patients (triblive.com) — Local cancer patients receiving treatment at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Monroeville are getting 175 thoughtfully packed tote bags from Penn Middle School students and staff. The Landram’s Light project, created in memory of beloved teacher Jackie Landram, includes comfort items to ease chemotherapy side effects and continues a growing tradition of support that has spanned several years. 
• Vending machines in Washington County offer unique holiday giving options (wtae.com) — Monroeville kids Brady and Maddie Thurman are helping spotlight new “giving machines” at Tanger Outlets in Washington County, where shoppers buy symbolic items that become real donations for local families. Their family’s choice of work boots, along with options like diapers and laptops, supports charities including Catholic Charities, Auberle, and others through Jan. 3, offering a hands-on way to teach children about holiday giving.
