• Montgomery Township Fire Chief Bill Wiegman to resign effective Jan. 2 (thereporteronline.com) — Montgomery Township’s longtime fire chief, Bill Wiegman, will step down from his combined leadership roles on Jan. 2 but remain a volunteer firefighter with the department. His departure comes amid a closely watched debate over creating a higher dedicated fire tax to fund 11 new full-time firefighters, with supervisors split over both the tax rate and whether to first commission an independent staffing study.
