KDKA Reports Air Force to Finalize 911th Closure

Rep. Tim Murphy, R-Upper St. Clair, said the Air Force will move forward with its planned closure of the 911th Airlift Wing in Moon, reports KDKA. 

Murphy told KDKA that the military is likely to shutter the base, despite efforts of Pennsylvania's Congressional delagation to prevent the closure. Click here for the story. 

Military and civilian personnel today will learn their future assignments from the Air Force. The closure is a part of a $4.7 billion restructuring plan aimed at drastically reducing federal defense spending. 

The Air Force has not yet officially announced its plans for the base and its personnel.
