After first meeting through careers in minor league baseball, Denise and George Brzezinski married and then moved to Mt. Lebanon to raise their children near Denise’s family. With their children now in college, the couple knew they were ready to start a new adventure by owning their own business. “George and I were ready for something different, and we put a plan in place to pursue the opening of a Nothing Bundt Cakes in this wonderful community,” shared Denise. Their dream was momentarily paused by Denise’s breast cancer diagnosis in December. “Receiving my diagnosis stopped me in my tracks, but that is where I ironically found my greatest strength. With the positive response I received from the Nothing Bundt Cakes family and the incredible support from the entire staff at Hillman, we knew that we were on the right path.” The couple continues to see the blessings, including the ability to give back to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center which has given them so much over the past year. “The family at Hillman is so special to me and to my family…to be able to give back to them in this way is truly frosting on the cake.” The bakery will celebrate their grand opening in November (see details below).
