RMU Hosts Week-Long Martin Luther King Commemoration

The university's office of Multicultural Student Services and other campus groups plan a week of remembrance.

this week will commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a series of campus events. 

The university's office of Multicultural Student Services will host a candlelight vigilat 5:40 p.m. today to mark the day of remembrance  at the campus' Rogal Chapel. Throughout the week, a freedom quilt will be displayed for viewing in the Nicholson Center food court.

Monday

Martin Luther King Memorial Service at 6 p.m. at the Rogal Chapel following the candlelight vigil. 

Wednesday

A Martin Luther King timeline will be presented from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Nicholson Center Food Court. 

Thursday

The Black Male Excellence Network will meet at 7 p.m. in the Hale Center, room 203. 

Saturday

A Martin Luther King Day of Service will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on campus. A film, "Our Friend Martin," will be shown at 7 p.m. at RoMo's Cafe in the Nicholson Center.
