• Penn State waives student fees for closing campuses (wtae.com) — Students at Penn State New Kensington, one of seven campuses slated to close, will see key financial breaks as they finish their degrees. Beginning spring 2026, they can take up to 24 credits without a surcharge, and in 2026-27 their student-initiated fees will be waived, saving about $315 per semester while keeping access to campus services.
   

• Burrell bocce team drums up support for collaborative, competitive experience (triblive.com) — Burrell High School’s unified bocce team spent Tuesday morning selling snacks and drinks at Cora Lee Cupcakes in New Kensington’s Feldarelli Square to fund their end-of-season banquet. The inclusive team pairs students with special needs and general education peers, building friendships and communication skills as they prepare for their first game Thursday at Riverview High School. Donations can still be sent to Burrell High School for the team.
