Solebury Voters Overwhelmingly Approve Open Space Referendum
Here are the results of the an open space referendum in Solebury Township.

SOLEBURY TOWNSHIP, PA — Voters in Solebury Township overwhelmingly approved an open space bond referendum on Tuesday's ballot.
Nearly 75 percent of Solebury voters voted in favor of the measure to borrow additional funds for open space. With all four districts reporting, 2,139 people voted in favor of the referendum, and 716 were opposed. The results are not yet certified by the county.

The measure allows the township to borrow up to $12 million to finance the acquisition of interests in or improvements to property for open space purposes.
Each of the four previous open space referendums in Solebury has been approved.

The township has said the additional borrowing would occur over a span of years.
"It has been estimated that under current conditions, the next $5 million of borrowing by the Township for open space purposes would increase taxes for the average Solebury Township household by about $50 per year. That figure is subject to change based on market conditions," the township said on its website.
