Lambertville's planning board will review proposals for several cannabis retailers and dispensaries following the legalization of marijuana.

LAMBERTVILLE, NJ — Three proposals for new cannabis businesses are on the docket in Lambertville.

After voting in July to allow certain kinds of cannabis retailers within city limits, the Lambertville planning board is now reviewing applications for new businesses in the Delaware River towns.

In a special meeting on Feb. 23, the board will vote on two of the three proposals currently under consideration.

Baked by the River, a cannabis micro-business, hopes for site approval of a 660-square-foot shop at 10-12 Church St. The micro-business would then file for an annual license before the March 15 due date, should planning board approval go through.

The board will also vote on a proposal from Jersey Girlz, LLC, a cannabis dispensary. Jersey Girlz, LLC hopes to set up shop at 80 Lambert Lane with a 10,145-square-foot store, according to proposal documents.

According to My Central Jersey, the Union Chill Cannabis Company hopes to open a 2,902-square foot store at 204 N. Union St. The planning board will not vote on this proposal next week, according to the agenda.

Only Class 5 retailers — not cultivators, manufacturers, wholesalers, distributers, or delivery — are allowed in Lambertville, per the ordinance established over the summer. This also came with stipulations, including that two of these must be micro-businesses in order to prevent corporate dominance.

The public can review plans for Baked by the River and Jersey Girlz, LLC online prior to the Feb. 23 planning board meeting.
