Free Cheesesteaks For Fisherman's Mark Clients In February
Gabarelly's Stockton Steaks, which opened during the pandemic, partnered with the Lambertville social services agency to "pay it forward."
STOCKTON, NJ — Fisherman's Mark is partnering with Gabarelly's Stockton Steaks in February to give back to the community — in the form of complimentary cheesesteaks.
The program, called "Cheesesteaks for Those in Need" will kick off on Groundhog Day, Feb. 2, and will enable customers who buy a cheesesteak at the Stockton eatery to purchase additional sandwiches for $10 apiece to donate to the community.
Each cheesesteak purchased will generate a complimentary cheesesteak coupon given to Fisherman's Mark, which will in turn distribute vouchers to its clients.

“We’re hoping to provide scores of complimentary cheesesteaks to Fisherman's Mark that will be enjoyed by their community,” chef and owner Brian Held said. “Being a new business that opened during the pandemic, we know how difficult it is to flourish in this economic climate, and we’re very optimistic that our customers will help us support our neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet right now.”
His business partner and wife, Judith Francois, said they are hoping to both pay it forward and raise awareness about need in Hunterdon County.

“We decided to team up with Fisherman’s Mark to maintain a local discussion about the reality of hunger right here in the Stockton-Lambertville area,” she said.
Jennifer Williford, executive director of Fisherman’s Mark, supports that mission.
“Hunger and homelessness are just as much an issue in our backyards as anywhere else,” she said. “The cost of food continues to rise, and every little gift helps the needs of our vulnerable populations.”
Fisherman’s Mark has been a part of the Lambertville community for more than four decades, providing guidance and support to people in crisis as well as facilitating innovative, responsive programs and services that promote stability, health and wellness. Its food pantry is a vital service for locals, distributing more than 175,000 pounds of food in recent years, according to a news release.
Gabarelly’s Stockton Steaks, located at 18 Bridge Street in Stockton, NJ, opened in September of 2021. It’s the third culinary venture in the area by Held, who also owns Hamilton’s Grill Room and Brian’s in Lambertville.
Named after Brian and Judith’s one-year-old daughter, Gabrielle, the retro roadside eatery specializes in cheesesteaks loaded with hand sliced ribeye steak, as well as hand-cut fries, onion rings, wings, sliders, and milkshakes.
