Great Barn Brewery To Host Open Mic Benefit For Ukraine

Steve and Maryana Ferguson run the microbrewery; Maryana has "deep Ukrainian roots" and will give proceeds to humanitarian organizations.

WARRINGTON, PA — The Great Barn Brewery Taphouse will host an open mic Thursday to benefit humanitarian organizations and charities in Ukraine, following the Russian invasion and unfolding crisis.

The brewery also plans to donate the day's online sales out of the Great Barn Taproom in New Hope and the brewery in Kintnersville.

"This time the crisis hit way too close to home and we cannot remain silent any longer," a statement from Great Barn Brewery read.

The tragedy is personal for the family-run microbrewery's founders, Maryana and Steve Ferguson; Maryana has "deep Ukrainian roots," they said.

"We have stood and will continue to stand with the People of Ukraine and the global community in calling for an immediate end to this conflict and a return to peace," representatives wrote online. "We have already begun a community effort to raise awareness for an immediate end to this war and to help raise needed funds for humanitarian help for Ukraine."

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, the Taphouse at 1500 Main St. in Warrington will host an open mic in support and solidarity with the people of Ukraine. The proceeds will be donated to Maryana's choice of charities and local humanitarian organizations.

"Hang out with us, jam with us and try new beer releases heading your way," brewery representatives wrote.
