'Moderate' Flooding In New Hope Forecast; Delaware River Levels May Reach 15.3 Ft
According to forecasts, waters will rise more than 12 feet in less than 36 hours, and flooding is expected for New Hope and Lambertville.

NEW HOPE, PA — The National Weather Service has changed its prediction since Tuesday, now estimating that water levels will reach 15.3 feet at the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge after he remnants of Hurricane Ida sweep through the region.
Flooding begins in New Hope and Lambertville when water levels reach 13 feet. With water levels at 15.3 feet, several roads and parking lots near the river will have begun to flood, the NWS forecasts.
According to weather service predictions, when levels reach 13 feet, the Lambertville Station Inn's parking lot begins to flood, water is at the top of the stone retaining wall at The Landing in New Hope, the Waterworks Condominium parking garage begins to flood, residents along the north and south ends of Lambert Lane in Lambertville sustain minor flooding, and basements begin to flood.

At 14 feet, water covers the entire parking garage of the Waterworks Condominiums; at 14.5 feet, the park floods on East Ferry Street, The Landing's patio floods, and the Waterview parking garages in New Hope begin to flood; and at 15 feet, River Road in New Hope begins to flood.
According to current forecasts the river will reach water levels of 15 feet late Thursday evening.

On Wednesday afternoon, rain had begun overnight. Water levels stand at just under 3 feet around noon; in less than 36 hours, they are expected to rise more than 12 feet.
Safety officials urge residents to avoid the aforementioned areas and especially to avoid driving through any standing water.
